Welcome to Kate's Kouture Bridal. A Bridal and Special Occasion Salon with a relaxed casual atmosphere. We try to make comfortable appointment slots so you can try on different styles at your leisure so you can find the dress that truly fits your body type and personal style. Kate's Kouture was born out of a need to find a place that has a relaxed atmosphere without the high pressure sales. The wedding experience is a once in a lifetime experience and should be a pleasurable one! The dress is very personal so all brides deserve a personable experience. We look forward to being there for you. This is a boutique experience. We have limited dressing room space and we want you to have exclusive attention while you are here. The store has become so popular that we are rarely able to service walk-ins. Be prepared to pick a few dresses from our inventory, after our staff has seen a few dresses on you, then our staff can make recommendations based on what you are liking and not liking. Try to keep the number of guests you bring to around 3. Although all your friends and family may want to be involved, it can be very overwhelming to have several different opinions. We love children, however, the process of trying on dresses can be very boring for them. The dresses are heavy and there are pins around. Playing in the shop can be dangerous. We look forward to meeting you and being a part of your special occasion. Additional Information Normal bridal appointments are booked for 1 hours. Parking in Berkeley at best is always difficult. There is normally change in the shop for metered parking but you may want to bring your own. Traffic is a consideration in the bay area. Try to give yourself a little extra time to get here and to park. What are the cost of your dresses? All of our Bridal Gowns are under $2000 with the majority between $700 and $1300 Our Bridesmaid Dresses are under $500 with the majority between $100 and $200 We do carry Special Occasion, Prom and Mother of the Wedding Dresses and the prices vary between $75 and $500 How long are the appointments? Most Bridal appointments are scheduled for at least 1 hour. See our appointments page to get a better idea of what our appointments are like. What sizes are the dresses in your store? We carry from size 6 to size 20 in Bridal sizing which is about size 4 - size 18 in current US sizing. Can we buy the dresses off the rack? Yes! Kate's Kouture is a true boutique shop in that we can order dresses and we sell them off the rack. How long does it take to order a dress? Most Bridal Gowns take 4-6 months to come in from the date of order and Bridesmaid gowns take 3-4 months. Do you sell petticoats? We do. Generally we order petticoats based on your dress needs and we normally can get them within 1 to 2 weeks. Do you do "in house" alterations? We do not have the space to accommodate an alterations person on staff, however we have 3 shops that we frequently work with and 1 of them does appointments out of Kate's Kouture. The three shops are: •Sophia's Fashions •The House of Couture •Advanced European Tailoring Where is Shattuck Square? Where are you located? Kate's Kouture is located at 82 Shattuck Square in Downtown Berkeley. Shattuck Square is a unique address for the "island" in the center of Shattuck. Shattuck Avenue splits into a V for 2 blocks and becomes 2 one way streets with both named Shattuck. We are on the northbound side of Shattuck located between Addison Ave and University Ave. We are located next door to Subway Sandwiches. The address directly across the street from the shop is 2033 Shattuck. We are located 1 block from the downtown Berkeley Bart Station. Be careful because not all mapping programs send you to the correct area on Shattuck. |
